โรงเรียนสาธิตแห่งมหาวิทยาลัย รังสิต (SBS) เป็นโรงเรียนสองภาษามาตรฐานนานาชาติ ที่ใช้หลักสูตรนานาชาติทวิภาษา (International Bilingual Curriculum) ซึ่ง “ลงทุนมัม” เคยได้รีวิวให้เพื่อนๆได้อ่านกันไปบ้างแล้ว แต่เนื่องจาก มีเพื่อนๆ แฟนเพจ สนใจในตัวหลักสูตรของ SBS กันค่อนข้างมาก วันนี้ “ลงทุนมัม” เลยจะขอมาเจาะลึกถึง หลักสูตร International Bilingual Curriculum ของ SBS กันค่ะ ว่ามีความพิเศษอย่างไรบ้าง?
SBS เปิดสอนนักเรียนตั้งแต่ อายุ 2 ปี ไปจนถึง 18 ปี โดยใช้หลักสูตรการสอนที่เรียกว่าหลักสูตรนานาชาติทวิภาษา ซึ่งจะเป็นหลักสูตรที่แตกต่างจากหลักสูตรสองภาษาหรือหลักสูตร English Programme (EP) ทั่วไป เพราะ มีการผสมผสานหลักสูตรนานาชาติที่เราพบในโรงเรียนนานาชาติ เช่น International Baccalaureate (IB) ในระดับอนุบาลและประถม และ หลักสูตร Cambridge ในระดับมัธยมศึกษา จึงทำให้หลักสูตรของ SBS มีความโดดเด่นแบบไม่เหมือนโรงเรียนอื่น
หลักสูตรของ SBS นั้น ถือเป็นหลักสูตรที่สอนด้วย Bilingual อย่างแท้จริง นั่นก็คือ โรงเรียนจะสอนด้วยภาษาอังกฤษและภาษาไทยแบบภาษาแม่ ซึ่งผลที่ได้คือ เด็กๆจะสามารถสื่อสารทั้งสองภาษาได้เสมือนเจ้าของภาษา ซึ่งต่างจากการเรียนในหลักสูตรนานาชาติหรือหลักสูตรไทยเพียงอย่างเดียว
เด็กนักเรียนที่เรียนที่ SBS นั้น จะได้เรียนในหลักสูตรนานาชาติ แต่ก็ยังไม่ละทิ้งภาษาและวัฒนธรรมไทย และที่สำคัญ เด็กๆ ที่เรียนจบจาก SBS จะมีคุณสมบัติพร้อมจาก ทั้งกระทรวงศึกษาธิการของประเทศไทยและจาก Cambridge International Education ทำให้สามารถเข้าเรียนต่อได้ทั้งในและต่างประเทศโดยไม่ต้องเรียน Foundation Year
การเรียนในระดับอนุบาลและประถม
การเรียนในช่วงอายุ 2-5 ขวบ นั้น ถือ เป็นช่วงที่สำคัญที่สุด เพราะ เป็นช่วงอายุที่สมองของลูกเราทำงานอย่างไร้ขอบเขตและมีประสิทธิภาพสูงสุด เด็กในวัยนี้จะสามารถเรียนรู้ได้ดีที่สุด โดยเฉพาะอย่างยิ่งการเรียนรู้ภาษาจะเป็นวัยที่สามารถเรียนภาษาได้อย่างเป็นธรรมชาติ
SBS จึงนำกรอบการสอนของ International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme (IB PYP) ผ่านหลักสูตรของ Cambridge และกระทรวงศึกษาธิการ มาปรับใช้ โดยข้อดีของการเรียนด้วยหลักสูตร IB ที่ “ลงทุนมัม” เคยเล่าให้ฟังไปบ้างแล้วนั้น คือ หลักสูตรนี้จะช่วยปลูกฝังให้เด็กเป็น ผู้ใฝ่รู้ (Inquirer) ผ่านเรียนรู้แบบ Transdisciplinary Learning หรือ การเรียนที่รวมวิชาต่างๆเข้าด้วยกันผ่านหัวข้อต่างที่น่าสนใจ ซึ่งการเรียนรู้เช่นนี้จะทำให้เด็กๆจดจำ แก้ปัญหาและเข้าใจได้ดีกว่าและเป็นการปลูกฝังการรักที่จะเรียนรู้อย่างต่อเนื่องตลอดชีวิต
นอกจากนี้ การเรียนรู้ในรูปแบบนี้ จะช่วยให้เด็กๆ ได้ฝึกฝนทักษะต่างๆที่สำคัญทั้ง 5 ทักษะ ได้แก่ ทักษะด้านการสื่อสาร ทักษะด้านสังคม ทักษะด้านการคิด ทักษะด้านการค้นคว้า และทักษะด้านการจัดการตนเอง ด้วยค่ะ

การเรียนในระดับมัธยม
ในระดับมัธยมศึกษาจะมุ่งเน้นให้เด็กๆ ได้ค้นพบตัวตนและวิชาที่ตัวเองสนใจ โดยการเรียนในระดับนี้ จะเน้นการสอนเป็นรายวิชาเพื่อให้เด็กๆได้เลือกเรียนในวิชาที่สนใจ
โดยในระดับ มัธยมต้น นี้ ทางโรงเรียนมีสายการเรียนสองสาย คือ CEP และ CCP
1. Cambridge Extended Programme (CEP)
สำหรับนักเรียนที่มีความสนใจในวิชาวิทยาศาสตร์ ซึ่งนักเรียนจะได้แยกเรียนเป็นรายวิชา ฟิสิกส์ เคมี และชีวะ นักเรียนที่อยู่ในโปรแกรม CEP นี้จะสามารถสอบ IGCSE ได้สูงสุด 8 วิชา ซึ่งได้แก่ English as a First/Second Language, Thai as a First Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Computer Science, Global Perspectives และ Business Studies
2. Cambridge Core Programme (CCP)
นักเรียนที่เรียนในโปรแกรมนี้ จะได้เรียนวิชาคณิตศาสตร์ วิทยาศาสตร์ และสังคม (ทั้งภาษาไทยและภาษาอังกฤษ) นักเรียนจะสามารถสอบวิชา IGCSE ได้สูงสุด 6 วิชา ซึ่งได้แก่ English as a Second Language, Thai as a First Language, Mathematics, Combined Sciences, Computer Science, และ Business Studies
เมื่อนักเรียนเรียนจบในระดับมัธยมศึกษาปีที่ 3 นักเรียนจะสามารถเลือกเรียนต่อในหลักสูตร Cambridge A/AS level หรือเรียนต่อในสายงานที่นักเรียนสนใจ โดยวิชาที่ทางโรงเรียนจัดการเรียนการสอนในหลักสูตร Cambridge A/AS level มีดังต่อไปนี้
● Mathematics
● English as a First Language
● Physics
● Chemistry
● Biology
● Business Studies
การสร้างประสบการณ์ในการทำงาน
นอกเหนือจากการเรียนในด้านวิชาการแล้ว ทาง SBS ยังมีการนำโปรแกรม Unifrog มาใช้เพื่อช่วยวางแผนในอนาคตให้นักเรียน ไม่ว่าจะเป็นแผนการศึกษาต่อในระดับมหาวิทยาลัยในประเทศต่างๆ หรือแผนในด้านของการทำงานในอนาคต รวมไปถึง ทางโรงเรียนยังจัดเตรียมโปรแกรมการฝึกงานตามสาขาวิชาที่นักเรียนสนใจ เพื่อช่วยเสริมสร้างประสบการณ์การทำงานให้เด็กๆอีกด้วย
ในการเตรียมพร้อมเพื่อเรียนต่อในระดับมหาวิทยาลัย ที่ SBS ได้มีการทำความร่วมมือกับมหาวิทยาลัยชั้นนำทั้งในและต่างประเทศ เพื่อให้นักเรียนสามารถเรียนวิชาในมหาวิทยาลัยและโอนหน่วยกิตได้ล่วงหน้า รวมไปถึง เด็กๆ สามารถสมัครเข้าเรียนและได้รับการตอบรับการเข้าเรียนในคณะที่ต้องการ ตั้งแต่ยังอยู่ในโรงเรียนและมีโควต้าเข้าเรียนต่อในคณะต่างๆอีกด้วย
