คุณพ่อ คุณแม่หลายๆท่าน ที่กำลังพิจารณาว่า จะส่งลูกเรียนโรงเรียนนานาชาติดีหรือไม่? ข้อสงสัยหนึ่งที่คุณพ่อ คุณแม่มักจะมีก็คือ ถ้าลูกเรียนโรงเรียนอินเตอร์แล้ว จบอินเตอร์แล้วเรียนต่อที่ไหนดี?
วันนี้ “ลงทุนมัม” ไปหาคำตอบมาให้เพื่อนๆแล้วค่ะ
หลังจากที่ลูกของเราเรียนจบในระดับมัธยมศึกษาแล้ว ไม่ว่าจะเป็นการเรียนในหลักสูตรไหนก็ตาม ก็จะต้องได้รับวุฒิการศึกษาในระดับมัธยมปลาย หรือ High School Diploma ซึ่งจะเป็นเอกสารที่ได้รับจากโรงเรียนที่เรียนอยู่ เพื่อที่จะใช้ในการไปยื่นศึกษาต่อในระดับมหาวิทยาลัยต่างๆค่ะ หรือ หากเด็กๆคนไหน อยากที่จะสอบเทียบวุฒิการศึกษาก็สามารถทำได้ โดยการสอบ GED หรือ General Educational Development ซึ่งจะเทียบเท่ากับ วุฒิการศึกษาระดับมัธยมปลายในประเทศอเมริกา หรือ แคนาดา
ส่วนการเลือกว่า เราจะไปเรียนต่อในระดับมหาวิทยาลัยในประเทศ หรือ ต่างประเทศนั้น จริงๆแล้ว ในปัจจุบันมีหลายทางเลือกมากเลยค่ะ เด็กๆสามารถเลือกได้ทั้ง การเรียนต่อมหาวิทยาลัยในประเทศไทย และ การไปเรียนต่อระดับมหาวิทยาลัยที่ต่างประเทศ ซึ่งแต่ละที่ก็จะต้องการเอกสารยื่นประกอบการสมัครที่แตกต่างกัน
แต่ไม่ว่าลูกๆของเรา จะเรียนจบโรงเรียนอินเตอร์ในหลักสูตรไหน? นอกเหนือจาก High School Diploma ที่จะได้รับแล้ว ก็ยังจำเป็นจะต้องมีการสอบวัดระดับตามที่หลักสูตรนั้นๆกำหนด ซึ่งข้อสอบเหล่านี้มักจะเป็นข้อสอบที่มาจากส่วนกลาง และมีการวัดผลคะแนนที่เหมือนกันทั่วโลก ซึ่งจะแตกตามไปตามแต่ละหลักสูตร ได้แก่
- คะแนน SAT
- คะแนน Advanced Placement (AP)
- คะแนน IGCSE
- คะแนน A Levels
- คะแนน IB Diploma Program
หลักสูตรไทย
- คะแนน GAT
- คะแนน PAT
ผลคะแนนต่างๆที่กล่าวมาข้างต้นนี้ มีข้อดีอย่างหนึ่ง คือ การสอบวัดระดับนี้ จะเป็น การสอบวัดระดับ ที่สอบเหมือนกันทั่วโลก เพราะฉะนั้น ผลคะแนนต่างๆเหล่านี้ จะเป็น คะแนนที่ได้รับการยอมรับกันทั่วโลก มหาวิทยาลัยต่างๆทั่วโลกต่ างต้องการคะแนนเหล่านี้ เพื่อพิจารณา การับเข้าเรียนต่อในระดับมหาวิทยาลัยทั้งสิ้นค่ะ
ยกตัวอย่างเช่น หาก น้องๆ ที่เรียน หลักสูตรอังกฤษ และ มีผลคะแนน A Levels ในวิชาที่เราอยากจะไปเรียนต่อในระดับมหาวิทยาลัยได้อยู่ในระดับที่ดีมาก ก็จะได้เปรียบในการยื่นมหาวิทยาลัย ไม่ว่าจะเป็น มหาวิทยาลัยในประเทศอังกฤษ หรือ ประเทศอื่นๆ เพราะมหาวิทยาลัยก็จะพิจารณาคะแนนส่วนนี้ด้วย อีกทั้ง เมื่อเข้าไปเรียนต่อแล้ว อาจจะได้รับการยกเว้นการเรียนในบางวิชาที่เราเคยเรียนมาแล้ว และได้คะแนน A Levels ดีอีกด้วยค่ะ
“ลงทุนมัม” ทำ ตารางเปรียบเทียบ ให้ดูนะคะ ว่า ทางเลือกที่จะเรียนต่อในระดับมหาวิทยาลัย ของลูกๆเรา มีอะไรกันบ้าง? และ นอกเหนือจาก High School Diploma ซึ่งเป็น วุฒิการศึกษาระดับมัธยมปลายแล้ว เด็กๆยังต้องใช้ผลคะแนนอะไรในการยื่นบ้าง ?
เพื่อนๆจะเห็นว่า จริงๆแล้ว สำหรับเด็กที่ เรียนหลักสูตรนานาชาติ การเรียนต่อระดับมหาวิทยาลัย ไม่ว่าจะเป็นในประเทศ หรือ ต่างประเทศ ต่างก็เป็นไปได้ทั้งสิ้น แต่ ต้องยอมรับว่า ถ้า ลูกๆของเราจะเรียนต่อในมหาวิทยาลัยในประเทศ ภาคภาษาไทย นั้นอาจจะยากซักหน่อย เพราะ เด็กๆต้องสอบ GAT และ PAT ซึ่งเป็นข้อสอบวัดความถนัดที่เป็นภาษาไทยทั้งหมด ซึ่งน่าจะค่อนข้างยากสำหรับเด็กนานาชาติที่มีจำนวนชั่วโมงเรียนภาษาไทยค่อนข้างน้อยเมื่อเทียบกับเด็กหลักสูตรไทย
แต่ถ้าจะเรียนในหลักสูตรนานาชาติ หรือไปเรียนต่างประเทศ อันนี้น่าจะเป็นทางเลือกที่เหมาะสมกว่า เพราะคะแนนสอบที่ใช้ยื่นมหาวิทยาลัยนั้น มาจากการวัดระดับทั้งด้านภาษาและความถนัดในรายวิชาต่างๆเป็นภาษาอังกฤษ ซึ่งเด็กๆได้ฝึกฝนอยู่ตลอดเวลาอยู่แล้ว
แต่ถ้าหาก เพื่อนๆ ยังไม่แน่ใจว่า เมื่อลูกของเราโตขึ้นไปแล้ว จะเรียนในระดับมหาวิทยาลัยที่ไหน ปัจจุบัน ก็มีโรงเรียนหลักสูตร International Bilingual Program ที่จะเป็นการเรียนที่เตรียมพร้อมให้นักเรียนเลือกเรียนต่อในระดับมหาวิทยาลัยได้ทั้ง 2 ทาง คือ ทั้ง หลักสูตรไทย และ หลักสูตรนานาชาติ
ตัวอย่างโรงเรียนที่เป็น International Bilingual School ที่ “ลงทุนมัม” เคยรีวิวไปให้เพื่อนๆ ก็จะมี โรงเรียนสาธิตแห่งมหาวิทยาลัยรังสิต และ โรงเรียนอำนวยศิลป์ ค่ะ
International Bilingual School นี้ เด็กๆ จะได้เรียนวิชาต่างๆในภาษาไทย และ ภาษาอังกฤษ ควบคู่กันไป
การเรียนแบบนี้ เด็กๆสามารถเรียนต่อในระดับมหาวิทยาลัยหลักสูตรไทยได้ เพราะทักษะทางด้านภาษาไทยของเด็กๆย่อมมีมากกว่าเด็กโรงเรียนอินเตอร์ทั่วไป หรือ หากต้องการไปเรียนต่อในระดับมหาวิทยาลัยของหลักสูตรอินเตอร์ ก็สามารถทำได้เช่นกัน เพราะสามารถใช้คะแนน IGCSE และ A Levels ในการยื่นเรียนได้
อย่างไรก็ตาม อย่างที่ “ลงทุนมัม” เคยพูดไปข้างต้นค่ะ ว่า ไม่ว่าลูกๆของเราจะเรียนหลักสูตรไหน ต่างก็สามารถเรียนต่อได้ทั้ง มหาวิทยาลัยในประเทศ และ ต่างประเทศได้ทั้งสิ้น ซึ่งก็ต้องขึ้นอยู่กับความตั้งใจและความพยายามของลูกๆเราด้วยค่ะ
