วันก่อน “ลงทุนมัม” ได้ชวนเพื่อนๆ คุยถึง ทางเลือกในเส้นทางการศึกษาของลูกๆ ใน Facebook Fanpage ของ “ลงทุนมัม” สำหรับ เพื่อนๆที่มีลูกเรียนอยู่โรงเรียนอินเตอร์ ทางเลือกในการส่งลูกไปเรียนต่อต่างประเทศ ก็เป็นทางเลือกหนึ่งที่คุณพ่อ คุณแม่หลายๆท่าน อาจจะกำลังมองๆอยู่ หรือ แอบคิดอยู่ในใจ และ กำลังหาข้อมูลเปรียบเทียบอยู่ว่า จะให้ลูกเรียนในประเทศจนจบระดับมัธยมปลายเลยดี? หรือจะส่งลูกไปเรียนต่อต่างประเทศ ดี? ซึ่ง หากเป็นการส่งลูกไปเรียนต่อต่างประเทศ ประเทศที่ผู้ปกครองนิยมส่งลูกไปเรียนต่อกันก็มีหลากหลาย ทั้งในเอเชีย เช่น ประเทศสิงคโปร์ และ ประเทศจีน หรือจะเป็น ประเทศสหรัฐอเมริกา, ออสเตรเลีย หรือ อังกฤษ ซึ่ง การส่งลูกไป เรียนต่อที่อังกฤษ นั้นก็ถือว่าเป็นหนึ่งในตัวเลือกที่ผู้ปกครองนิยม เนื่องจาก ประเทศอังกฤษนั้นเป็นต้นแบบของการศึกษาในหลายๆประเทศทั่วโลก อีกทั้ง ยังมีสภาพแวดล้อมที่ดี และ มีความปลอดภัย ทำให้ผู้ปกครองรู้สึกอุ่นใจเมื่อต้องให้ลูกไปเรียนไกลบ้าน
“ลงทุนมัม” ก็เลยรวบรวมข้อมูลถึงเรื่อง การไป เรียนต่อที่อังกฤษ ถึงหลักสูตรการเรียนการสอนว่าเป็นอย่างไร? จุดเด่นคืออะไร? ควรเริ่มไปช่วงอายุเท่าไหร่? และต้องเตรียมตัวอย่างไรบ้าง?
วันนี้ “ลงทุนมัม” ได้มีโอกาสพูดคุยกับ ผู้เชี่ยวชาญในด้านการเรียนต่อที่ต่างประเทศ จาก ศูนย์แนะแนวการศึกษาต่อต่างประเทศ “IEC Abroad” ซึ่งมีสาขาในหลายประเทศทั่วโลก โดยทางสถาบันมีประสบการณ์ให้คำแนะนำและดูแลน้องๆ ในการไปเรียนต่อทั้งในระดับมัธยมและมหาวิทยาลัยที่ต่างประเทศ โดยเฉพาะอย่างยิ่งประเทศอังกฤษ
ทางสถาบัน “IEC Abroad” ได้คำแนะนำเกี่ยวกับ การ เรียนต่อที่อังกฤษ ซึ่ง “ลงทุนมัม” เห็นว่ามีประโยชน์กับพ่อๆแม่ๆ เลยสรุปข้อแนะนำมาให้อ่านกันตามนี้ค่ะ
1. การไปเรียนต่อที่ประเทศอังกฤษ ในระดับมัธยมนั้น ถือเป็นการเตรียมพร้อมให้ลูกๆของเราสามารถไปเรียนต่อใน มหาวิทยาลัยชั้นนำของโลก ได้ง่ายขึ้น เพราะ นอกจากจะได้ ทักษะด้านภาษาอังกฤษจากเจ้าของภาษาแล้ว หลักสูตรมัธยมอังกฤษ นั้นก็มีความหลากหลายของสาขาวิชา โดยนักเรียนสามารถเลือกวิชาเรียนเหมาะสมกับตนเอง ทำให้ได้เปรียบในการเข้าเรียนต่อปริญญาตรีในมหาวิทยาลัยชั้นนำของโลก
2. ผู้ปกครองนิยมส่งลูกไป Boarding School ที่ประเทศอังกฤษ เนื่องจากมีโรงเรียนประจำที่มีชื่อเสียง โดดเด่นในด้านวิชาการ มาตรฐานการเรียนการสอนที่ได้รับการยอมรับทั่วโลก อีกทั้งยังมีกิจกรรมให้เลือกหลากหลาย มีสภาพแวดล้อมที่ดี และมีความปลอดภัย
3. อายุที่เหมาะให้น้องๆเริ่มไปเรียนต่อต่างประเทศ คือ ช่วงอายุ 11 ปี (Year 7) เเละ 13 ปี (Year 9) เพราะน้องจะได้มีเวลาในการปรับปรุงตัวให้เข้ากับสภาพเเวดล้อม และมีเวลาในการพัฒนาทักษะการใช้ภาษาอังกฤษให้คล่องขึ้น
4. หากต้องการที่จะไปเรียนในระดับมัธยมที่ประเทศอังกฤษ ขอเเนะนำให้ไปเรียนช่วงอายุ 14 ขึ้นไป (เข้าเรียน Year 10 – GCSE)
5. เมื่อนักเรียนอายุ 16 ปี เเล้วจะต้องสอบ GCSE ซึ่งโรงเรียนส่วนมากจะไม่ค่อยให้นักเรียนย้ายโรงเรียนในช่วงระหว่างหลักสูตร GCSE
6. หากใครยังไม่แน่ใจว่า น้องๆจะชอบในการย้ายไปเรียนต่อไหม? ก็สามารถเลือกส่งลูกไป Summer Program ระยะเวลา 2-3 สัปดาห์ ที่ประเทศอังกฤษก่อนได้ ซึ่งปกติจะจัดในช่วงเดือน มิถุนายม ถึง สิงหาคม ของทุกปี
7. การส่งน้องๆไปเรียนหลักสูตรระยะสั้นในช่วงปิดเทอม จะช่วยให้น้องสามารถปรับตัวทั้งเรื่องของการเรียนและการอยู่ในสภาพแวดล้อมใหม่ได้ ซึ่งจะทำให้มีความมั่นใจมากขึ้นเมื่อไปเรียนประจำที่อังกฤษในระยะยาว
8. ช่วงเวลาในการสมัครเรียน สำหรับชั้นปีต่างๆ จะแตกต่างกัน จึงแนะนำให้สมัครล่วงหน้าอย่างน้อย 1 ปี เพื่อที่ให้เด็กๆได้เตรียมตัวสมัครสอบ เเละมีโอกาสเข้าได้มากกว่าในโรงเรียนที่มีการเเข่งขันสูง (ผลคะแนน GCSE และ A Level ของนักเรียนในโรงเรียนมีคะแนนสูง) ได้
9. การที่น้องๆเข้าเรียนในโรงเรียน ที่มีนักเรียนได้คะแนน GCSE และ A Level สูงๆนั้น ก็เป็นส่วนเริ่มแรกในการที่เตรียมตัวให้น้องๆเข้าเรียนที่มหาวิทยาลัยระดับโลก อย่าง Oxford และ Cambridge ได้
10. ค่าใช้จ่ายในการไปเรียนต่อระดับมัธยมที่ประเทศอังกฤษ หากเป็น Boarding School รวมแล้วจะอยู่ที่ประมาณปีละ 1.5 ล้านบาท
