การเรียนแบบ Project Approach ดีอย่างไร?

คุณพ่อ คุณแม่ หลายๆ ท่านที่ได้ติดตามอ่าน “ลงทุนมัม” กันมา คงจะเคยได้ยิน “ลงทุนมัม” พูดถึง การเรียนแบบ Project Approach ในรีวิวโรงเรียนนานาชาติ หลายๆ โรงเรียน กันไปบ้าง แล้ว เพราะ ปัจจุบัน มีโรงเรียนทั้งระบบอินเตอร์ และ ระบบ Bilingual School นำหลักการของ Project Approach มาปรับใช้สอนกับเด็กๆ กันอย่างแพร่หลาย

วันนี้ “ลงทุนมัม” เลยอยากถือโอกาสมาเล่าให้ เพื่อนๆ ฟัง กันว่า การเรียนแบบ Project Approach นั้น จริงๆแล้วเป็นอย่างไร และ จะดีกับลูกๆของเราอย่างไรค่ะ

การเรียนแบบ Project Approach นั้น จะเป็นการเรียนรู้แบบลึกในหัวข้อต่างๆทีกำหนด โดย หัวข้อนั้น อาจมาจากคุณครูตั้งขึ้น หรือ นำมาจากความสนใจในเรื่องต่างๆของเด็กเอง ซึ่งโปรเจคที่เกิดขึ้นสามารถทำได้ทั้ง โปรเจคเดี่ยว หรือ โปรเจคกลุ่ม และ ระยะเวลาในการทำโปรเจคอาจจะสั้นๆไม่กี่วัน หรือ ยาวเป็นสัปดาห์ได้

ความแตกต่างที่เด่นชั้นของการเรียนแบบ Project Approach นั้น คือ คุณครูจะมีหน้าที่หลักเป็น Facilitator หรือ ผู้อำนวยความสะดวก ให้กับ เด็กๆ ได้เรียนรู้ หรือ ค้นคว้า แง่มุมต่างๆในหัวข้อที่ทำ แต่จะไม่ได้ ป้อนข้อมูล เพื่อให้ เด็กๆ รับข้อมูลแต่เพียงฝ่ายเดียวเท่านั้น และ เมื่อจบโปรเจคแล้ว เด็กๆ จะต้องมีการส่งผลงาน อาจจะเป็นในรูปแบบของ รายงาน ชิ้นงาน หรือ การนำเสนอหน้าห้องก็ได้

ข้อดีของเด็กๆที่จะได้รับ ผ่านการเรียนรู้แบบ Project Approach ที่เด่นชัดคือ

  1. เด็กๆ สามารถเลือกที่จะเรียนรู้อย่างลึกซึ้งในสิ่งที่ตัวเองสนใจได้ 

การที่เด็กๆได้เลือกที่จะเรียนรู้ในเรื่องราวที่ตัวเองสนใจ จะทำให้เด็กๆ ได้สนุกไปกับการเรียนรู้ และ สามารถเรียนรู้สิ่งต่างๆได้อย่างลึกซึ้งมากยิ่งขึ้น

  1. ฝึกให้เด็กรู้จักการคิดวิเคราะห์และแก้ปัญหา

แน่นอนว่า ในระหว่างการทำงาน เด็กๆจะต้องพบเจอกับปัญหาที่จะต้องแก้ไข ตรงนี้จะเป็นโอกาสให้เด็กๆ ได้ คิดวิเคราะห์ถึงปัญหาที่เจอ เพื่อที่จะแก้ไขและก้าวผ่านปัญหาไปได้

  1. รู้จักการลงมือทำ

การทำงานในรูปแบบของโปรเจค หลายๆครั้ง เด็กๆ ต้องลงมือทำด้วยตนเอง ไม่ใช่เพียงแค่ หาความรู้จากอ่านหนังสือ ซึ่งแน่นอนว่า การลงมือทำจะทำให้ เด็กๆ จำเรื่องที่ทำลงไปได้อย่างลึกซึ้งและดีกว่า แค่ อ่านหนังสือ

  1. รู้จักที่จะพบเจอความผิดพลาด

การทำโปรเจค โดยเฉพาะ โปรเจคประเภทที่ต้องมีการทดลอง ย่อมจะมีผิดพลาด ไม่สำเร็จได้บ้าง ซึ่ง เด็กๆ จะได้เรียนรู้ที่จะอยู่และ ปรับตัวกับการผิดพลาดนั้นๆ

  1. ส่งเสริมการทำงานเป็นทีม และ รู้จักการทำงานร่วมกับผู้อื่น

การได้ทำงานโปรเจคเป็นทีม จะทำให้เด็กๆ รู้จักการรับฟังความเห็นที่แตกต่าง และ การนำความเห็นต่างๆมาปรับใช้ให้ผลงานสำเร็จ ซึ่งทักษะการทำงานเป็นทีมนั้น เป็นทักษะ ที่สำคัญมาก เมื่อเด็กๆโตขึ้นและ ต้องไปทำงานร่วมกับผู้อื่น 

  1. ทำให้เด็ก ได้รู้จัก จุดเด่น และ จุดด้อยของตนเอง

เวลาทำ โปรเจค โดยเฉพาะ ทำงานแบบเป็นทีม เด็กๆจะได้เรียนรู้ระหว่างการทำงานว่า ตัวเองทำอะไรได้ดี อะไรที่ไม่ถนัด ซึ่งจะทำให้สามารถพัฒนาสิ่งที่ถนัดให้ดียิ่งขึ้นไปอีก และ ปรับปรุงในส่วนที่ตัวเองไม่ถนัดได้ด้วย 

  1. ฝึกทักษะการบริหารจัดการ

แน่นอนว่า การทำโปรเจค ต้อง รู้จักทั้งการบริหารเวลาที่มี บริหารทีมงาน แบ่งงานให้แต่ละคนทำ ตามสิ่งที่ถนัด เพื่อให้ได้ผลลัพธ์ที่ดีที่สุด ทักษะเหล่านี้ จำเป็นมากๆ เมื่อเด็กๆโตขึ้นไปทำงานในอนาคต

  1. ส่งเสริมความมั่นใจและกล้าแสดงออกให้กับเด็กๆ 

การเรียนแบบ Project Approach เด็กๆจะต้องมีการส่งผลงาน หรือ นำเสนอผลงานเมื่อจบโปรเจค ตรงนี้จะเป็นช่วงเวลาให้เด็กๆ ได้นำเสนอผลงานหน้าชั้นต่อหน้า คุณครูและ เพื่อนๆ ยิ่งเมื่อได้ฝึกบ่อยๆ พอโตขึ้น เวลาไป present งานต่างๆ คงไม่ยากเกินไปแน่นอน

  1. เด็กๆจะได้เห็นการพัฒนาทักษะของตัวเองได้อย่างชัดเจน

เมื่อเด็กๆได้ทำโปรเจคมากขึ้นๆ ได้ฝึกทักษะทางด้านต่างๆบ่อยๆ เมื่อมองย้อนกลับไป จะทำให้ตัวเค้าเห็นความก้าวหน้าของตัวเองได้อย่างชัดเจน ทั้งในเรื่องของการ พูดหน้าชั้น หรือ การนำเสนอผลงาน ก็จะทำให้เด็กๆมีความภาคภูมิใจในความก้าวหน้าของตัวเอง และ มีกำลังใจในการพัฒนาตัวเองต่อไป

  1. เรียนแบบ Personalize ไม่ใช่ One size fits all 

การเรียนรู้แบบโปรเจค ไม่ได้มีอะไรที่ผิด หรือ ถูก ตายตัว เหมือนกับการเรียน ผ่านหนังสือ แล้ว วัดความสามารถผ่านการสอบ แต่จะเป็นการวัดกันที่ผลงานที่ทำออกมา อาจจะดีบ้าง ไม่ดีบ้าง แต่ไม่มีใครผิด หรือ ถูก

คุณพ่อ คุณแม่ อ่านแล้ว คิดว่าการเรียนแบบ Project Approach น่าสนใจไหมคะ ? โดยส่วนตัว “ลงทุนมัม” ค่อนข้างชอบการเรียนรู้แบบที่เด็กๆจะได้ลงมือทำจริงๆ แบบนี้ค่ะ เพราะมันจะช่วยให้ลูกๆจำเรื่องราวได้แม่นมากๆ และ รู้อะไร รู้จริง รู้ลึกซึ้งด้วย 

อย่างไรก็ตาม หากโรงเรียนของลูกเรา ไม่ได้สอนแบบ Project Approach เราก็สามารถนำหลักการเหล่านี้มาใช้สอนลูกเองได้ที่บ้าน อาจจะเป็น โปรเจคสนุกๆ ระหว่างปิดเทอม หรือ ในช่วงวันว่าง ยกตัวอย่างเช่น ให้ลูกวางแผนการท่องเที่ยวของครอบครัวและเป็นผู้นำทัวร์ กิจกรรมเหล่านี้ก็สามารถส่งเสริมทักษะต่างๆให้กับลูกๆได้เหมือนกันค่ะ
