- สร้างแรงจูงใจในการอ่านหนังสือ เพราะเป็นการอ่านหนังสืออย่างมีเป้าหมาย
- สามารถเช็คความเข้าใจในการอ่านหนังสือของลูก เพราะเด็กๆจะต้องบันทึกสรุปลงในสมุดบันทึกการอ่าน
- ฝึกทักษะการเขียนของลูก เพราะเมื่ออ่านแล้ว เด็กๆจะได้จดสรุปเนื้อหาของหนังสือลงในบันทึก

Reading Journal นั้น จริงๆแล้ว สามารถใช้ได้ตั้งแต่เด็กจนถึงโต โดยคุณพ่อ คุณแม่ สามารถเริ่มได้ตั้งแต่ลูกยังเล็กๆ ที่อาจจะยัง อ่าน หรือ เขียนไม่ได้ ได้เลย
สำหรับเด็กเล็กตั้งแต่ก่อนวัยอนุบาลไปจนถึงอนุบาล (Kinder)
เริ่มจาก การทำ Reading Challenge อย่างง่ายๆ ที่จะเป็น การจดทุกครั้งว่า ลูกอ่านหนังสือไปกี่เล่มแล้ว
ถ้าจะให้เด็กๆสนุกยิ่งขึ้นไปอีก เราควรจะทำเป็นเล่ม แล้วให้ลูก
- ระบายสี ทุกๆครั้งที่อ่านหนังสือแต่ละเล่ม
- ติดสติกเกอร์ ตามจำนวนหนังสือที่อ่าน
- หาตัวปั๊มน่ารักๆ มา Stamp ทุกครั้งที่อ่านหนังสือจบไปทีละเล่ม
