- ต้องมีความโดดเด่นในกิจกรรมอื่นๆที่นอกเหนือจากผลการเรียนที่ดี
เดี๋ยวนี้ สังเกตุว่าหลายๆโรงเรียนจะเน้นให้เด็กๆเป็นเด็กที่ Well round นั่นก็คือ เป็นคนรู้รอบ เก่งรอบด้าน จะเก่งแต่วิชาการอย่างเดียวไม่ได้แล้ว เพราะฉะนั้น กิจกรรมอื่นๆนอกห้องเรียนก็ต้องให้ลูกๆได้ทำกันเยอะๆด้วยนะคะ
- ต้องมีผลงาน หรือ ประสบการณ์ที่สอดคล้องกับสิ่งที่เราอยากจะเป็น หรือ คณะที่เราอยากจะเรียน
ข้อนี้ “ลงทุนมัม” คิดว่า มันจะช่วยแสดงถึงความตั้งใจจริงว่า ผู้สมัครอยากจะเรียนด้านนี้ไปเพื่ออะไร เหมือนกับว่า เราสนใจด้านนี้มากๆนะ แล้วเราก็มีประสบการณ์ด้านนี้มาบ้างแล้วจริงๆ
- ต้องเป็น Story Teller หรือนักเล่าเรื่องที่ดี
อันนี้เป็นข้อที่สำคัญมากๆ และ Guest Speakers ของเราต่างก็เห็นด้วยถึง Criteria นี้กันทั้งนั้น เพราะเวลา ลูกๆของเราต้องเขียน Statement of Purpose ว่า อยากจะไปเรียนที่มหาวิทยาลัยนั้นๆเพื่ออะไร เราจะต้องรู้จักวิธีการเล่าเรื่องที่ดี และ โน้มน้าวมหาวิทยาลัย ว่า เราอยากเรียนไปทำไม และหลังจากเรียนจบแล้วเราจะไปสร้างประโยชน์อะไรได้บ้าง
- มี Recommendation ที่ดีจาก Alumni
ข้อนี้จะเป็นตัวเสริมที่ดีสำหรับใบสมัครค่ะ เพราะ Alumni ก็เหมือนเป็นผู้ช่วยของมหาวิทยาลัยในการคัดเลือกรุ่นน้องต่อไปเหมือนกัน
- เข้าใจสไตล์ของมหาวิทยาลัยที่สมัคร และ รู้ว่า มหาวิทยาลัยนั้นๆมองหาคนแบบไหน?
ตรงนี้ Guest Speakers ของเรา บอกว่า แต่ละมหาวิทยาลัยนั้นมี Character ที่แตกต่างกัน และ มองหา นักเรียนที่เก่งแตกต่างกันออกไป บางมหาวิทยาลัยอาจจะมองหาคนที่จะไปสร้างสิ่งใหม่ๆให้กับโลก บางมหาวิทยาลัยอาจจะมองหาคนที่จบไปเป็นผู้เปลี่ยนแปลงโลกในด้านใดด้านหนึ่ง อันนี้ก่อนที่จะสมัครเรียน เราจะต้องให้ลูกๆศึกษาให้ดีว่า คนที่มหาวิทยาลัยนั้นๆมองหาเป็นแบบไหน?
- ต้องมีความกล้าที่จะสมัครและเชื่อว่าเราจะต้องทำได้
Guest Speakers ของเราหลายท่าน ก่อนที่จะสมัครมหาวิทยาลัย ได้รับคำแนะนำจากหลายๆคนว่า อย่าสมัครเลย เพราะเป็นไปไม่ได้แน่ๆ แต่ท่านเหล่านั้นก็รวบรวมความกล้า รวมถึงความพยายาม เพื่อที่จะทำให้สำเร็จตามที่ฝันไว้
