Daisy Ray – Montessori Tri-Language Programme ตั้งอยู่ ในซอยรามอินทรา 14 (ซอยมัยลาภ) โดย เดซี่ เรย์ เปิดสอนเด็กในระดับชั้นเด็กเล็ก อายุตั้งแต่ 1.5-6 ปี โดยเปิดสอนอย่างเป็นทางการเมื่อเดือนสิงหาคมที่ผ่านมานี้เองค่ะ
จุดเริ่มต้นของ เดซี่ เรย์ นั้น เกิดจาก คุณ พิชญา มัยลาภ (คุณแม่ป่าน) ต้องการมองหาโรงเรียนให้กับลูก โดยโรงเรียนที่มองหานั้นจะต้องเน้นเรื่องของการส่งเสริมการเรียนรู้ให้กับเด็กๆ และ เน้นสภาพแวดล้อมที่เป็นธรรมชาติ ซึ่ง คุณแม่ป่านมองว่า มีความจำเป็นมากสำหรับเด็กๆโดยเฉพาะเด็กๆในกรุงเทพฯ ที่ชีวิตเริ่มห่างไกลจากธรรมชาติมากขึ้นเรื่อยๆ นอกจากเรื่องสภาพแวดล้อมที่เป็นธรรมชาติแล้วยังมองหาโรงเรียนที่มีนักเรียนในห้องเรียนจำนวนไม่มาก มีอัตราส่วนครูต่อนักเรียนที่เหมาะสมต่อการเรียนรู้ รวมถึงผู้ปกครองมีโอกาสได้พูดคุยกับคุณครูได้อย่างใกล้ชิด
แต่หลังจากที่ลองมองหาและสำรวจโรงเรียนสำหรับลูกแล้ว ก็ไม่พบโรงเรียนที่ถูกใจ จึงเริ่มคิดจะทำ Homeschool ให้กับลูกเอง แต่ก็ยังมีความกังวลว่า หากสอนลูกแบบ Homeschool ก็อาจจะไม่ได้ตอบโจทย์เรื่องการส่งเสริมพัฒนาการด้านอื่นๆกับลูกได้ครบ จึงเกิดแนวคิดที่จะเปิดโรงเรียน ประกอบกับตัวคุณแม่ป่านเองก็ได้อบรมเชิงปฎิบัติการการเรียนรู้ Montessori มาจึงทำให้ตัดสินใจแบ่งที่ดินในซอยมัยลาภมาทำ Daisy Ray – Montessori Tri-Language Programme (Daisy School) ขึ้นมา
เดซี่ เรย์ เป็นพื้นที่การเรียนรู้แบบ 3 ภาษา คือจะสอนเด็กด้วย ภาษาอังกฤษ, ภาษาจีน และ ภาษาไทย โดยจะเน้นส่งเสริมการเรียนรู้ให้กับเด็กๆท่ามกลางธรรมชาติ ตามหลักการเรียนรู้แบบ มอนเตสซอรี่ ที่จะปลูกฝังให้เด็กได้เจริญเติบโตไปตามความต้องการตามธรรมชาติของตนเอง ได้เรียนรู้ตามสิ่งที่ตนเองสนใจผ่านการสังเกตและลงมือทำ และเสริมสร้างปลูกฝัง Growth Mindset ให้กับเด็กๆ
การเรียนที่ เดซี่ เรย์ นั้นจะเป็นการเรียนรู้ที่รอบล้อมไปด้วยธรรมชาติ ทั้ง ลำธาร ต้นหญ้า รวมไปถึงการเรียนรู้กับสัตว์ต่างๆที่มีอยู่ในฟาร์ม อย่างเช่น ไก่ และ เป็ด ซึ่งโรงเรียนได้รับการออกแบบโดยสถาปนิก นักจิตวิทยาเด็ก และกุมารแพทย์เป็นที่ปรึกษา เพื่อเอื้อให้เด็กๆเกิดการเรียนรู้ตามวัยได้ดีที่สุด
กิจกรรมที่เด็กๆของ เดซี่ เรย์ จะได้ทำในแนวทางการเรียนรู้ของ มอนเตสซอรี่ นั้นจะได้รับการส่งเสริมการเรียนรู้ของเด็กๆผ่าน Facilitators (คุณครู) ที่เป็นผู้เชี่ยวชาญเฉพาะทาง ผ่านการเรียนรู้ 5 ด้าน คือ
- Practical Life (ทักษะวิชาชีวิต)
- Sensorial (ประสาทสัมผัสในด้านต่างๆ)
- Mathematics (คณิตศาสตร์)
- Language (ภาษา)
- Culture (วิทยาศาสตร์. ศิลปศาสตร์, ชีวศาสตร์ และภูมิศาสตร์)
นอกจากนี้ในกิจกรรมต่างๆเหล่านี้ยังช่วยส่งเสริมพัฒนาการทางด้านอารมณ์ สังคม และการสร้างตัวตน ไปด้วย ยกตัวอย่างเช่น กิจกรรม Creative Drama for Kids และ Yoga for kids ที่สอนโดยนักจิตวิทยา และคุณครูด้านการแสดงเพื่อพัฒนาการเด็กปฐมวัย ที่เด็กๆจะได้ทำอยู่สม่ำเสมอในทุกๆสัปดาห์ นอกจากนี้ยังคงปลูกฝังและให้เด็กๆได้ซึบซับความเป็นไทย ผ่านกิจกรรมการเรียนรู้ที่เรียกว่า All About Thai ควบคู่กันไป
การเรียนภาษาของ เดซี่ เรย์ สำหรับทั้งภาษาอังกฤษ และ ภาษาจีน จะเน้นการเรียนแบบ Whole Language Approach คือ ให้เด็กๆ ได้เรียนรู้ภาษาโดยธรรมชาติ ผ่านกิจกรรมต่างๆที่เด็กๆจะได้ทำในแต่ละวัน โดย คุณครูที่ เดซี่ เรย์ นั้นจะเป็นครูชาวต่างชาติที่เป็นเจ้าของภาษากว่า 90% และสำหรับคุณครูผู้สอนภาษาจีนนั้นจะเป็นคนไทย ที่มีประสบการณ์ภาษาจีนมากว่า 15 ปี
ด้วยความที่ เดซี่ เรย์ เป็นพื้นที่การเรียนรู้เล็กๆ เพราะสามารถรองรับนักเรียนได้สูงสุดเพียง 36 คนเท่านั้น และมีอัตราส่วนนักเรียนต่อครูเพียง 3:1 ทำให้ คุณครูที่นี่มีความใกล้ชิดกับเด็กๆมาก
อีกทั้ง เดซี่ เรย์ ยังมีการทำงานที่ใกล้ชิดกับผู้ปกครองด้วยเพื่อช่วยค้นหาและพัฒนาความสามารถของเด็กได้เป็นรายบุคคล โดยทาง เดซี่ เรย์ จัดให้มีห้องเรียนสำหรับครอบครัว ที่จะช่วยอัพเดทและให้ข้อมูลคุณพ่อ คุณแม่ สำหรับดูแลลูกและส่งเสริมพัฒนาการตามวัย รวมไปถึงการให้คำแนะนำเรื่องของการเรียนต่อในระดับประถมในโรงเรียนต่างๆที่ คุณพ่อ คุณแม่ได้ตั้งเป้าหมายเอาไว้
