พ่อแม่หลายคนที่ชื่นชอบในวิธีการเรียนการสอนและ หลักสูตรของโรงเรียนนานาชาติ อยากจะให้ลูกๆได้เรียนในโรงเรียนนานาชาติ แต่ติดอยู่นิดนึงตรงที่ว่า ไม่มั่นใจเลยว่าจะให้ลูกเรียนโรงเรียนนานาชาติดีไหม? เพราะพ่อแม่พูดภาษาอังกฤษไม่คล่อง กลัวจะมีปัญหาในการสื่อสารกับคุณครู วันนี้ “ลงทุนมัม” เลยจะมาเล่าประสบการณ์ให้ฟังค่ะว่า พ่อแม่จำเป็นต้องพูดภาษาอังกฤษเก่งมั๊ย ถ้าจะ ส่งลูกเรียนอินเตอร์
เริ่มจากตอนเลือกโรงเรียน ไปดูโรงเรียนกันก่อนเลยค่ะ เท่าที่ “ลงทุนมัม” สัมผัสมา โรงเรียนนานาชาติเกือบทุกโรงเรียนที่ “ลงทุนมัม” ไปดู จะมีเจ้าหน้าที่เยี่ยมชมโรงเรียนเป็นคนไทย เพราะฉะนั้น ตรงจุดนี้สบายมาก ไม่ต้องกังวล เดินชมโรงเรียนสบายๆ สงสัยอะไร ถามเจ้าหน้าทีได้เต็มที่เลยค่ะ
เมื่อเลือกโรงเรียนได้แล้ว ก็ถึงขั้นตอนการ สอบสัมภาษณ์ สำหรับเด็กเล็ก ปกติโรงเรียนจะไม่ค่อยซีเรียสเรื่องภาษาอังกฤษของเด็กมากค่ะ ส่วนมากจะดูตามพัฒนาการของเด็กมากกว่า และคุณครูที่มาสอบสัมภาษณ์ก็มักจะเป็นคนไทย เพราะไม่เช่นนั้นอาจจะสื่อสารกับเด็กๆไม่รู้เรื่อง เพราะฉะนั้น ตรงจุดนี้ผู้ปกครองไม่น่าจะต้องใช้ภาษาอังกฤษอะไรในการสื่อสารมากมายค่ะ
มาถึงเวลาที่ลูกๆเราเข้าเรียนกันแล้วค่ะ ครูประจำชั้นก็พูดภาษาอังกฤษ ครูผู้ช่วยก็พูดภาษาอังกฤษ แล้วพ่อแม่ที่พูดภาษาอังกฤษไม่เก่งจะไหวไหมนะ?
“ลงทุนมัม” ว่า โดยปกติแล้วพ่อแม่ก็ไม่ค่อยต้องสื่อสารอะไรกับคุณครูมากนะคะ นอกจากมีคำถามที่เราสงสัยอยากคุยกับคุณครูเอง แต่ถ้าเป็นการบ้าน หรือประกาศต่างๆ โดยปกติคุณครูจะส่งมาให้ทางอีเมล์ค่ะ ถึงแม้ส่วนมากจะเป็นภาษาอังกฤษ แต่โชคดีเหลือเกินที่ ปัจจุบันมี โปรแกรมแปลภาษาในอินเตอร์เนตมากๆ แค่คัดลอกข้อความที่คุณครูส่งมาไปแปล ก็จะพอเข้าใจเนื้อหาที่คุณครูส่งมาอยู่ค่ะ ส่วนจดหมายที่มาจากโรงเรียน เดี๋ยวนี้ หลายๆโรงเรียน ส่งมาเป็นแบบ 2 ภาษา ทั้งภาษาไทยและ ภาษาอังกฤษ อันนี้ก็สบายค่ะ
จุดที่น่าจะต้องใช้ภาษาอังกฤษเยอะหน่อย น่าจะเป็นวันพบผู้ปกครอง เพื่ออัพเดทความก้าวหน้าในการเรียนของลูกๆเรา เพราะจะต้องเข้าไปคุยส่วนตัวกับคุณครูประจำชั้น แต่ก็โชคดีที่ ปัจจุบัน โรงเรียนนานาชาติ มีเด็กไทยเข้ามาเรียนเยอะ เพราะฉะนั้น ผู้ปกครองมักจะขอตัวช่วย เป็น คนแปลภาษาไทย-อังกฤษ ได้ค่ะ
ทั้งหมดนี้ น่าจะเป็นโอกาสต่างๆที่ คุณพ่อ คุณแม่ อาจจะต้องใช้ภาษาอังกฤษในการสื่อสารกับ โรงเรียนนานาชาติ ซึ่งจริงๆแล้วก็ไม่ได้เยอะมากนะคะ เพราะในหลายๆโอกาส เราก็สามารถถามๆข้อมูลจากผู้ปกครองท่านอื่นได้ จะมีก็แต่ วันพบผู้ปกครองที่เราต้องเข้าไปพบคุณครูส่วนตัว อันนี้ก็ต้องลองขอตัวช่วยจากโรงเรียนดู รับรองไม่ยากเกินความสามารถของ Super Dad หรือ Super Mom อย่างพวกเราแน่นอนค่ะ
อีกหนึ่งข้อดีของการส่งลูกเรียนโรงเรียนนานาชาติก็คือ เป็นโอกาสที่พ่อแม่ได้พัฒนาภาษาอังกฤษไปพร้อมๆกับลูก เรียนไปพร้อมกับลูก พูดคุยภาษาอังกฤษกับลูกที่บ้าน รับรองเก่งกันทั้งพ่อแม่ทั้งลูกเลยค่ะ
